Dr. Marit Dewhurst
Art Education Program Director, Assistant Professor of Art and Museum Education
Marit has coordinated arts education programs in museums, community centers, and detention centers, including developing the Museum of Modern Art’s free studio art program for teens. She received her BA from University of Michigan in Community Empowerment through the Arts, her Ed.M. in Harvard University’s Arts in Education program, and her Ed.D. in Communities, Culture, and Education at Harvard University. Her interests include social justice art education, community-based arts, youth empowerment and culturally-relevant teaching in the arts.

Dr. Susan McCullough
Adjunct Lecturer
Susan is a PhD student in Urban Education at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Her research interests are gender and teaching, teacher education and art and museum education. Prior to her doctoral work she was a museum educator for 15 years in school, family and teacher programs at the Brooklyn Museum and The Museum of Modern Art.

Carla Repice
Adjunct Lecturer
Carla Repice received her MFA in performance art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and studied painting and contemporary art and feminist theory at The Lorenzo de Medici School of Art in Florence, Italy. Repice founded and is the Artistic Director of The Bronx Art Collective, a social justice and visual arts program for high school youth at the DreamYard Art Center in the South Bronx. In addition, she coaches teachers for Urban Arts Partnership and is a fierce advocate for equity and access in arts learning. You can learn more about her work at www.carlarepice.com
Will Goertzel
Adjunct Lecturer
Adjunct Professor Will Goertzel is an alumnus of the graduate Art Education program at CCNY. He received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute with a concentration in Printmaking. Will currently teaches art to middle schoolers at PS 89 in the Bronx.
Jeff Hopkins
Adjunct Lecturer
Jeff is a storyteller, illustrator, and educator. He holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Ed.M. From Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. He has worked as a teaching artist in several NYC museums and has taught at Tufts University and New York University.
