Last week the National Art Education Association’s Annual Convention was held here in NYC! From March 3-5, teachers from all over the country gathered in beautiful Midtown to get real nerdy about art education together. Keep scrolling to check out some photos from the conference (if you were there and took pictures, email them to us at arted@ccny.cuny.edu!) and get ready to apply to present at next year’s event, happening in San Antonio, TX!
If you missed the convention this year, we hope you’ll consider attending in the future! It’s a great chance to see classmates and friends, make professional connections with the broader art education community (both city-wide and national), infuse your teaching practice with new ideas and inspiration, and is a whole lot of fun! Check out this PD we did to learn more about the experience.
And, we especially hope you’ll apply to present! You can present solo or in a group and we *promise* that even if you are still a pre-service teacher, the teaching practice you’re currently developing has a lot to offer. We’ll run workshops in the coming months on developing and submitting an application and we look forward to seeing you there!
